Botox Disport and Xeomin Treatments
All three are neuromodulators for the treatment of dynamic and static wrinkles. Botox is good for patients with smaller muscle density. Dysport is better for patients with larger, stronger muscles. It takes a full week for full effect, though some people start to notice a difference after 3 or 4 days. Xeomin is an alternative for patients that have become resistant to Botox and Dysport. It also is a more highly purified molecule with fewer of the accessory proteins that may play a part in the development of resistance.
Botox for hyperhydroisis (excessive perspiration production in the underarm area) is also performed here and we use the starch and iodine test to properly identify the sweat glands to give the most optimal treatment.
